4496 is a single part urethane based pad printing ink for use on the MARKEM 597 and other open reservoir printing equipment used in the marking of electronic components in strip form. It is designed for maximum adhesion and permanence on most low stress molding compounds. It is the ink of choice for applications requiring resistance to Electrolytic Deflash processes.

ZO thinner is recommended for thinning in the MARKEM Model 597 and other open reservoir printers to a viscosity of 5-7 seconds using the narrow slot spatula. This ink has printed for more than four hours before thinning was required. Working life in the reservoir has been reported to be up to three days.
Drying / Curing: 4496 will IR set to prevent ink offset within eight seconds at a part surfacee temperature of 140°C. Complete cure can be achieved during post mold curing or by baking in a vented oven at 150°C for 1 hour.
Shelf Life: The shelf life for this ink series is six months from the date of shipment or twelve months from the date of manufacture, whichever is less. Optimum storage condition is at 5-10°C in the original unopened container. Allow ink to warm gradually to room temperature before use.
