MARKEM Corporation operations at its headquarters in Keene, NH, as well as its offices in Canada, Singapore, Manchester, England and Nottingham, England are certified under ISO 9000 standards.

The certification process includes several days of assessment of the MARKEM quality management system, which includes over 1,300 documents. The company is in an elite group of manufacturing companies around the world who have received the ISO 9001 certificate. Audits are conducted twice each year by an external auditing firm to ensure continued conformance to ISO 9001.

ISO 9001 is the most comprehensive quality system certification available. Certified companies have demonstrated their ability to maintain the consistency of their product, responsiveness to customer specifications, and control over the processes which generate product and services.

The third edition of ISO 9001 (ISO 9001:2000) was approved in December 2000 replacing ISO 9001:1994. In May 2001, MARKEM (Keene, NH and Canada) met the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 which puts greater emphasis on customer satisfaction. This put MARKEM among the very first to measure up to the new standard.
